Separate Employee - Direct/Inter-Agency Transfer

  For a transfer to an agency other than another HHS agency.

Action

1. 

Select the Manager Self-Service link.

 

The Manager Self-Service menu items display.

2. 

Select the Separations & Retirement link.

 

A list of all the separation types you may enter displays.

3. 

Select the Voluntary Separations link.

 

A list of your direct reports and any indirect reports display.

4. 

Select the name of the transferring employee.

  

The Voluntary Separation page displays.

5. 

Enter Separation Effective Date

 

Select the Separation Effective Date field.

6. 

Enter Separation Effective Date

 

Enter the Separation Effective Date. Remember that for a direct transfer, the Separation Effective Date must be the same as the start date for the new agency.

7. 

Enter Separation Effective Date

 

[Tab] out of the field.

 

The Last Date Paid Through defaults to the date just prior to the Separation Effective Date.

8. 

Last Date Physically Worked

 

The Last Date Physically Worked is the date the employee was physically present at the job site.

9. 

Select the Reason for Separation dropdown arrow.

 

A list of possible reasons for separation displays.

10. 

Select the Trans to Another Agency.

 

A new field called "Agency Transfer To" displays.

11. 

Select the dropdown arrow for the Agency Transfer To field.

12. 

Select the agency to which the employee is transferring.

13. 

Select the Submit button.

 

The Save Confirmation page displays with a message.

14. 

The message reminds you to refer the employee to the Employee Separation Checklist available on the CAPPS home page.

 

Select the OK button.

15. 

The employee will be terminated on the date you identified as the separation effective date. End.
